well the match was won in the first. They scored maybe a minute in off a free kick that the wind grabbed and hit the bottom of the bar. The second goal came off a pk. I'm sure Charlie will have a lot to say even though he didn't play. Surprisingly they had some decent and straight up guys. Good luck in the finals.

Wind and the field were two very big factors in the game. The field was rock hard, bouncy and fast and the wind was a steady 15-20 mph. Lakeside won the toss and chose to go with the wind for the first, which was a huge advantage. Less than two minutes into the game, Lakeside drew a foul about 35-40 yards out. Pete Marlette stepped up and buried one off the crossbar and in to go up 1-0. Scoring so quickly took a little wind out of the Wolfpack's sails. Lakeside continued to pepper the Wolpack net with 3 more posts in the first half. We broke through with our second when Marlette was dangling in the box and got fouled for a pk. Chris Walter calmly stepped up and buried it, 2-0. Wolfpack was limited to two fast breaks in the first half.
Second half was much of the same, Lakeside had several chances, including a couple missed breakaways, and Wolfpack was limited to two or three free kick opportunities. They almost broke through with about ten minutes left with a shot that hit the cross bar and was finished by a player who was blown offsides. Goalie Eric Derose, sweeper Joe Walter and the rest of the Lakeside defense was shut down for the majority of the game.
BSC won the other semi 3-2, looking forward to meeting them in the final.

Well done Lakeside. You didn't go for the "tactic" Wolfpack uses of committing "fouls" every single chance they had. Lakeside played a very mature game in hostile conditions.

Congrats to Lakeside on their win. Well earned as they were clearly the better team for the majority of that game. Marlette caused constant problems up top and probably should have added another goal. Disappointing to see Barth all hobbled up on the sideline. Really missed those three minutes he plays each game are some of the best 3 minutes of garbage time in soccer.
I think Wolfpack was rattled by not just the early goal, but the fact that the sideline had so many Roos there with their girlfriends just sitting there for the taking. Throughout the game the Roos stole glances from nearly female seated by the wolfpack bench. Some came over to chat and scored some highly priced Roo playoff tickets. You could see the jealousy boil over onto the field as Wolfpack took their envy out on hapless Lakeside players with strong fouls. So even in not playing in the semi final, the Roos continue to have a profound impact on the Tehel Cup progression. Best news Wolfpack got all day is that now they are still eligable to become the Roos minor league feeder team. All you need to do is blow it in the D1 playoffs....
Looking forward to the finals with BSC v Lakeside.

3 minutes per game has been proving to be too much wear and tear on my fragile body. I am going to cut down to 1-2.
