Hard fought game by both sides. The Sharpshooters scraped together 13 guys for the game, four of us having returned less than an hour before the game from a 7 hr car ride home from the US vs Brazil game in DC. Luckily, we got a better result than the US. Celtic had 13 or 14 players also. We started slow and played pretty sloppy in the first half. We had a few good chances, but managed to squander them. We gave up one or two decent looks to Buffalo Celtic, but they missed them as well. Fairly even play in the first half, probably slightly in our favor. 10 minutes or so into the second half we got a free kick about 20 yards from goal. Brendan Lawler played a nice ball to Matt Campana who buried it in the bottom corner. We cleaned up our play a lot in the second half and created a lot of chances. We couldn't seem to find the second goal. It didn't prove to be necessary as we defended well and held off Celtic's push forward in the final 10 minutes. Not the prettiest win, but we'll take it.

Evan Lang suffered what looked to be a bad injury at the final whistle, but we think it may not be as bad as originally thought. Thanks to Pepper for taking a look at his knee after the game.

The reffing in this game was all over the place. Calling fouls for virtually no contact while at the same time letting blatant fouls go. No control over gamesmanship as countless balls were kicked away after the whistle and nothing was done. Don't think it ended up having too much of an effect on the result and it was bad in both directions. Not entirely sure which game he was watching. Really nice guy, but struggled with his calls.

Buffalo Celtic always plays a tight game against us and they did again tonight. Good luck to them for the rest of the season.
