Panthers 4- Yemen II 1 Empty Panthers 4- Yemen II 1

Panthers showed up with 12. Yemen’s fans alone were probably 3x that. The ohhs and ahhs and of course heckling brought back nice memories of college playing days. Without a doubt, Yemen’s fans make for a more exciting game atmosphere. Panthers got on the scoreboard first by a great free kick by Dave Tredo who bent it over wall and into the side netting. After this goal, Yemen pressed and had the better of play for the remainder of the 1st half. They were rewarded for their effort with the equalizer off a very nice shot that just eluded Hammer’s hands and snuck under the bar. Second half Panthers came out strong and received a pk as Rich Wilson was tackled from behind in the box. He converted and Panthers went up 2-1. Panthers continued to generate scoring chances and got their 3rd goal on a perfect cross from Kirill Martynov that found its way to my head. Gavin Mcinerney, making his season debut, scored to ice the game on a nice set up from Rich Williams’ overlapping run.
