Lazio 8- D5 1

A 14 man Lazio team travelled up to UB to take on D5 in the first round after the game was moved from OP. D5 had 11. Gorgeous weather, couldn't have asked for more perfect conditions.

Game started out relatively even. It only took Hesch about 5 minutes to start going crazy but by the second half he was back to being quiet. Took us about 20 minutes to get on the board when Matt Sprague scored a Messi-like short chip on the keeper. Once the gate opened, it never closed. 4-0 at halftime. Game ended up 8-1 after Sprague and newcomer Adam Augustyn both registered hat tricks. Steve Galante scored on accident, as he clearly had no business shooting and Zack Wood scored a chip to the back post from roughly 25 yards out. Overall the game was slow and boring but a few mouthy D5 players wouldn't go quietly. I would like to thank them for pointing out that Pat Doherty is the reason we won't go anywhere this year and you're right, he clearly is the worst player in the BDSL. Sadly his mothers bake sales pay for Pete Leoni's socks that apparently double as "tights" so we are forced to keep him. I'll keep it in mind when we don't make playoffs this year and begin to evaluate what went wrong. Also it was pointed out that last years D5 would have "crushed" our team this year. To that.... Seek help.

Also want to thank our Savior Andy Goetz for being merciful yesterday and allowing D5 to get one in. Classiest player in the league

I don't believe a word of this recap. I'd like to see a ref report before I believe that D5 lost 8-1. Those guys have too much heart and skill to go out like that. This is a premier level team. And them losing doesn't make sense to me. And you seem to be insinuating that they are sore losers or some sort of "a-holes" which couldn't be the furthest thing from the truth. As far as D5's team last year (Panthers) crushing you, they would have. You're lucky Panthers folded because if they didn't not only would they be winning Tehel cup, but they would be running through 2nd division (the division they requested to go down to instead of getting promoted to premier). I think by calling out D5 you're only waking the real Beast in 1st division. The only reason I sleep at night is because I know we have a bye against D5. I just hope we don't see them in the playoffs. They would slaughter us.

Ricky, only took me 45 seconds into the game to start going "crazy" as I was simply reacting to the foul from behind by your center back. Then having to deal with the ref (that was obviously buddies with guys on your team) chirping his views on the game.

Well, I'll go ahead and say it Drew, we're not the team I hoped we'd be. And to be honest I've contributed to that, bit too much winter weight put on. We still will make a playoff run hopefully, and I still love coming up to Buffalo to play every week! Been tough trying to get our best 11 together at the same time, and probably 1 weak link at the moment but like I said it's still fun.

No one is taking your failings as a team harder than me. It's a shame to see. I just hope you guys turn it around and quick. The league is better when Panthers are good.

I can't believe it took this long to realize that I would be the sole reason Lazio didn't make the playoffs this year. Now that I've been ousted I can no longer just blame everything on Loncar.
