GWB had a smaller showing than we would have liked with only 12 guys showing up, some key players missing as well. We decided to change up our formation and line up which proved to be very beneficial. Beast City seemed to have a few more subs but not many more.

Game was pretty even to start, a lot of back and forth runs. GWB was awarded a corner kick fairly early in the match. James Mikulski in his debut for GWB headed in a corner from Matt Dutro to take an early 1-0 lead. The rest of the first half was pretty much the same way with a lot of back and forth but no really good chances for either team.

Second half started off all Beast City. We came out super flat and Beast City put on tons of pressure. They definitely outplayed us the second half leaving us with very view chances. They got a decent amount of corners and deep throw ins but we defended well. A late miscommunication in our own 18 led to a late 87' minute by Beast City to tie it up.

Overtime was pretty much even with the only real scoring coming from GWB. James Mikulski got an open shot on net and put the ball through the keepers legs but the keeper got a slight piece of it and the ball went wide.

After a scoreless overtime we went to PKs to determine the match. Ryan Mierzwa, Sam Calao, Jon Chavanne, and Ryan Woodard all converted their PKs. Kevin Stuitje saved two PKs (making him 3-6 on PKs for the year).

Beast City is a good team that possesses the ball well. There outside defenders played extremely well and made it difficult for us to get anything going forward. Overall great match, wish Beast City the best of luck in the rest of their season.
