Another home game moved from Hamburg High School but this time to West Seneca Soccer Complex as our other "home" field Pioneer was occupied at 6pm. Aftershock expecting to have a full team with the exception of Player/Manager Cullen sitting for his double yellow from previous game and a player traveling Europe, but as kickoff came only 13 bodies were healthy enough to play. Rust Belt showed with 12 players but were down to 11 within the first 10 minutes or so of the game. Onto the game...

Rust Belt came out catching Aftershock sleeping. Within the first 10 minutes, a back post ball found one of their players who slotted it past the goalie. (0-1) Shortly after a miscommunication between Rust Belt goalie and defender leads to both of them catching the ball. Patterson stepped up and buried the PK. (1-1) Rust Belt scored their 2nd of the night on another back post ball and run with the same result as the first one. (1-2) At this point Aftershock seemed to wake up. Brandon Sullivan, finally back from college, received the ball, took it down the left sideline cut inside and beat the goalie. (2-2) Minutes later a turnover off a Rust Belt throw in left Sullivan 20+ yards out to blast it past the goalie upper 90. (3-2) Aftershock kept applying the pressure and Brian Voit played a through ball to Patterson who was met by the goalie at the corner of the 18 but Patterson chips him with the outside of his foot off the post and in. (4-2) The last 2 minutes of the first half was more eventful than the first 43 minutes as play opened up and both teams have great scoring chances but half ends with Aftershock up 4-2. Second half started and I would estimate possession was anywhere from 60/65 Aftershock to 35/40 Rust Belt. Patterson received the ball after a quick throw in and crossed it into the box where Brendon Bernard headed it past their keeper. (5-2) A few minutes later Joe Cordier cuts through the midfield, plays the ball to Patterson, who played it back to Cordier who walked in on the goalie all alone and slotted it far post (6-2). Aftershock had countless chances the rest of the half but either missed the net or shot right at the goalie. Rust Belt counters late in the 2nd half and scores to make the final score Aftershock 6, Rust Belt 3.

Aftershock gets 2nd win of the year (1st in league play) and looks to continue momentum Thursday in their 2nd Tehel Cup game vs PLYSA
