Game played on a freshly cut, flat surface down at Sahlen's with pristine weather conditions.  BUSS had 15 present this evening, while Queenston one upped them with 16.  BUSS in their normal orange, we wore our normal neon yellow.

I need to take a moment here to apologize to Charlie Barth.  I didn't realize his leg was that beat up after our Thursday night clash in the opening round of the Tehel Cup, so he wasn't grazed and I look like an @$$ for saying that.  I'm sorry, and won't assume next time.  Also, apparently Ben Rung's leg is messed up too, as he may be out for an extended period of time.

I'd say we scored our first goal of the night maybe 10 minutes in, when Joe Farrell played a nice ball to George Todino inside the box on the right hand side, and George smashed it left footed, roofing it over Daddario.  Over the next 20 minutes, we had 3-4 golden opportunities to really blow the game open, score wise, but failed to convert.

The last 15 minutes were controlled almost exclusively by BUSS.  We looked fatigued, and I think a lot of that had to do with BUSS' width and the fact that we probably dropped in too deep.  They were knocking the ball around to one another, but lacked a final ball.  Half time came and we needed it, as they got closer and closer to equalizing.

In the second half, BUSS came out flying, determined to score one.  Frank Poppolo smashed a ball left footed from distance that actually almost rocked into the net, but fortunately was just a bit high.  Two standouts from their end today were Jeff Panik and Prince Saysay - Panik for his control on the ball and general direction he gave to his players, and Saysay for having a lot to do with the attack down the left hand flank.  But while BUSS controlled the first 15 or so of the second half, on one of the very few occasions we were deep in their territory, Pat Eadie, from his left back position, pressured their defender into making an errant pass, which went right to Ross Suitor near the top of the 18.  He was left alone and finished left footed by passing it into the back of the net.  2-0 Parliament.

After that, we made some adjustments to get some extra guys behind the ball, particularly in/around our right mid area due to how they were attacking from that end only, but our team defense was on point today, stymieing a few waves of attacks that generally petered out around our 18', as our backs would not give in, and our middies were helping slow down the buildup.  This is now 270 consecutive league minutes where we have not allowed a goal during the run of play.

The third goal was masterful: Netter plays a ball somewhat deep, and George Todino was in attack mode the minute it was coming down.  He grabs the ball somewhere between midfield and their 18', and muscles off defenders on either side of him, pushes through, dekes once, moves to his left and buries his second with his left foot to the far side netting.  GET OFF OF MEEEEEE!!! Minutes later, Kastner puts one into the danger zone and unfortunately for BUSS, Ian Martin knocks it into the net for an own goal.  4-0, and the last 15 minutes were just absorbing BUSS attacks and attempting to counter for more.  Final whistle blew and that's how the score remained.

We probably could have had a goal or two more this evening (first half in particular), but maybe we were a tad fortunate to not concede tonight.  Either way, we'll take the 3 points.  BUSS are still a solid, dangerous team, especially offensively and we wish them luck moving forward.  But again, we'd prefer if they end the season behind us in points.  We are kindly asking all premier teams to follow suit.

All in all, a good month of May.  If we bury our chances at a higher rate, we can really be dangerous, considering our defensive form so far, which has been good enough for 2nd in the premiership.  I say this too fully knowing we've scored 14 goals in 8 days, but believe me that number should be higher.

I don't have much to add to this recap, it is pretty accurate. I would like to add that all though the score line doesn't show it, this is one of the better games we have played this season. We really, really missed Kyle Clifford, Pete Marlette and Mate Tarr today. Those guys are our finishers and without them we couldn't find our way inside the final third. Hell, we didn't really have any solid chances on Netter. It was one of those games though. We will get it together, I can promise that.

I would like to recognize Polo Suazo, Jeff Panik, and Prince Saysay for their performances yesterday in the loss. Our midfield ball movement and wing play was our best yet this season. Man of the match goes to Prince Saysay who was dominant on the left side yesterday.

Congrats to Queenston and good luck the rest of the season.
