Jordan C. Katz: a new member of the Clarence Coyote Club, is becoming increasingly popular in our locker room, whilst becoming increasing despised by opposing clubs and referees alike.  Why?  Well, we Coyotes are coming to the collective dumbfounded realization that the aforementioned aspiring doctor has an affinity to (frequently) use the ugly C word on and around the pitch.  Clearly, the most vulgar word in American English.  Yesterday, at the 48th minute, C-man remained true to form, and, following a call by the center ref, proceeded to say, (and I'm paraphrasing here) "What the f*** was that, that was f*****ing awful, you f*****ng c**t."  He received a straight red.  In all fairness to C-Rock, the call was a bad call in the middle of a string of very bad calls, but, the C word directed at the ref is unadvisable.

At this point we were down 2-1.

The pitch and park on Grand Island are beautiful.  It was brilliantly sunny, but super windy.

Last year, we played these dudes with 9 guys out in Youngstown (Y-Towwwn).  Our tenth showed up during the game, but went back down to 9 with an injury.  We got blown out.

Yesterday was a different story, we had a few subs, and were healthy.  Last year, I played 90 and had a hammy and a neck.  Yesterday, I played 23 and only had a slight knee issue.  The Monarchy struck early off of a strange, swirling ball in the air, then finish.  Later, Sief played a perfectly placed central breakaway ball  to a svelte Spragggguer, who, after an initial stop by the (good) keeper, got it right back, and popped it over and in. 1-1.  Towards the end of the half, I noticed a helicopter landing, over our (collective) left shoulder, way out, near the far corner of the sprawling Veteran's Park.  I figured it was a military exercise, but, it wasn't.... was it a bird, was it a plane (it was clearly a helicopter), no....it was.... SUPER GARY!!!!  Gear Bear (pronounced Gare Bear), jumped out, donning sleek black tights (to keep his legs warm) under his uniform--why? because he had just wrapped up 70 minutes in his professional game!  As he walked past the opposition's bench on the way to home base, I heard (out of my periphery) a (collective) gulp.

He didn't help us on the bench - while he was stretching out, one of Queenston's strikers made a strong move past one of our beastly defenders and finished with a missile to finish the half up one.  Amazing goal.

2-1 at half.

The second half started (with Gary and JJ in the middle).  JJ had a fantastic game yesterday. He directed us well and worked and worked.  Like the USMNT the night before, we Coyotes would play the final 42 minutes with 10 men.  It didn't matter.  We thoroughly controlled possession throughout the entire game and nothing changed with 10 - Actually, the extra space may've been an advantage to us.  D. Maier, who also played his heart out yesterday, drew a hard (two handed forearm to the back) penalty in the box, and Gary finished the PK.  2-2.

Finally, with about 10 minutes left, Maier sent a perfect cross into the box and Brody (another workhorse) finished with a strong game-winner!

3-2 final.

Once again, our defense was excellent.  I might have to dumb down my sideline rhetoric, though; towards the end of the game, I screamed out, "consummate stalwart," referencing Kenny May's consistent strong play, and everyone looked at me like I had a three heads.

Clarence moves into 4th.

This is really accurate.  The PK was deserved, and quite frankly, as much as we hate to come to terms with it, your win yesterday was deserved.  We were outplayed for most of the game.  I don't remember too many solid scoring chances for us, so kudos to your back line.  You simply wanted the game more; especially when you lost Katz for the last 40 or so.

Good group of guys Clarence are - that's the kind of team we'd love to play 11 times over.  Competitive, fun, they stay after and empty the cooler - all positives.  Don't let the 5 cards in this game fool you: it wasn't a chippy game really.  The red was a poor choice of words (probably the worst word anyone could have used; unfortunate for him because again, he too seems like a nice guy from playing against him in indoor at Sportsplex).  Most if not all the yellows were "smart" plays...I found Hughes' particularly funny when he dribbled with the ball another 30 yards or so pretending as if he didn't hear the whistle blow.

Queenston, wearing black, had 19 guys at this one (our feudal system is rather large - but obviously there are no Serfs amongst us), and Clarence dressed in white and had 15 I think.  16 if you count Antkowiak, but he was in street clothes.  Plus, then I'd say we had 20, since Frank Cotroneo was present (but out), and came dressed in a three piece suit and actually had game notes prepared for us.  The main point written in sharpie was to "F*ck Sh!t Up", which ironically is what we did to the game after having a lead and a man advantage.  He's also been fired from his head coaching duties.

Clarence killed our vibe, as I said to them after the game.  They're maybe slightly less talented than Rogue (slightly...it's close), but what makes them so much more effective is how much chemistry they have, and smarts.  That's the easiest way to put it.  As much as I'd like playing a 'Clarence' all year, it's not the type of team we'd want to draw in the playoffs, if we're so lucky to participate later this year.

FYI - Ross Suitor's goal yesterday was spectacular.  By the time it hit the back upper 90 netting, it was going 150 miles per hour.  If there were no net there, I think it would have sailed over the mountains; something only Uncle Rico could have dreamed of.

Thanks a lot for the kudos, bud.

Also, who is Uncle Rico? (please tell me it's not some veiled reference to Youngstown's (Queenston's?) connection to the Italian Mafia...)
