Tonawanda started with a pretty full bench while the Reds started one short, awaiting a few late arrivals. We moved the ball around pretty well early but got tired toward the end of the half, and TU had some better chances then. They made it 1-0 right before halftime, a free kick sent to the far post and they out-jumped our tallest guy. We stuck to what we were doing well to start the second half and were rewarded with a tying goal, Joey Gabor's cross skipped past two sets of feet in the box before Paul Twaragowski finished - it hit a bump that caused it to go off the keeper's gloves and in. The Reds pushed for a lead, had a header cleared off the line and another saved right on the line. TU took a lead soon after when a bit of a spinning shot surprised our keeper. They added one towards the end as we were pushing to try to tie it. All in all, I'm okay with our performance tonight in the heat. TU was a bit better than us, showing why they're at the top of the division.
