FC Aftershock 0, Youngstown Marksmen 3

Game was played up in Youngstown at Veterans Park. Aftershock had 14 while it looked like Youngstown had 12-13 players. It was humid out and the clouds disappeared by time of the second half.

Game started with Youngstown holding majority of possession. They played the ball long to their forwards who had a lot of pace but lacked the finishing ability. We played defense the whole game with a few opportunities to break away on the counter but really couldn't string enough passes together. When the water break took place in the 1st half it was 0-0 with Youngstown coming close on one or two occasions but Aftershock either blocking the shot or clearing it off the line. With 15 minutes or so remaining in the 1st half, the ball bounced out to #9 of Youngstown who took a shot from outside the 18 that ending up bouncing through our goalies legs. 0-1. Halftime would come a litter later with the score remaining the same. Aftershock would play the rest of the game with 13 as one of our players ended up injuring his elbow when he awkwardly landed after slide tackling a Youngstown player.

Second half would start with Youngstown controlling a majority of possession but generating nothing too dangerous that Aftershock defense or goalie couldn't handle. After the water break in the 2nd half, Youngstown would find the back of the net again. The ball bounced off an Aftershocks arm right to #9 who from outside the 18 yard box put it in the left corner. 0-2. A few minutes later #9 would complete the hatrick when he picked up a lose ball and one touched it to the right corner. 0-3. Aftershock would come close towards the end of the game when Andy Green sent the ball into the box but Patterson put it just over the net. Game would end a few minutes later with Youngstown getting the W. Good luck to them as they enter the playoffs earning the #2 seed and have a bye week next week.

The first full season for FC Aftershock is now complete. We finish in 10th (right where Schieber predicted) and enter the offseason looking to most likely make a few roster changes and build on the positives from this year.

Good luck to those in playoffs and we will be ready to make a run for the D3 title come next season.
