The theme tonight was "taking some chances". We took our chances with the weather, we kept the game on as planned - we were all fortunate to have a nice window in there without rain, it didn't precipitate until afterwards. We took our chances putting more players forward, and it paid off. Celtic had 11, United had 5 subs. The Reds took the lead first off a great outside foot hit by Chris Duerr over their keeper and under the bar. Duerr made it 2-0 with an off-angle shot the keeper couldn't hold on to. We let a bounce get past our defensive line late in the half and we led 2-1 at halftime. A couple defensive miscues by us resulted in two Brigade goals, so for the last 10 minutes we threw more numbers forward and were rewarded for it. Brandon Ripstein headed one in after we kept it alive bouncing around in the box, and just before the final whistle Paul Twaragowski pounced on a rebound and tapped it in the empty net. We've been playing better every week and we certainly still have a ways to go, but it was nice to see a result for our efforts.

Thanks to Celtic for leaving your trash by your bench for me to clean up and for clapping the mud from your boots all over the benches.
