Tehel Cup Results

Post  Garrett Sengbusch on Thu May 13, 2010 7:52 am

Celtic finally got a win and will go through to the second round of the Tehel Cup with a 10-4 victory. What were the results of the rest of the May 12th games?

Rush FC 6- Hawks 0. Two very late goals in the first half scored by Zac Schmidt and Kevin Au on a PK drawn by Schmidt made the score 3-0 at the break. Nick Kurtz made 4 very good saves for his clean sheet. Good luck to Rush FC in the Premier division.

Celtic Bhoys got crushed by a very good Clarence team. It would have been less embarassing if we had shown up to play.

Clarence is tough. They are a premier team in the championship division. Sand-bagging s.o.b.'s......why i outta!?!!

EA pulled out a squeeker up in Wendleville, NY, 3-1 against PLYSA. The field resembled a pasture that was recently cleared by an intoxicated farmer. Perfect place for a very sub-par game.

EA held the majority of the pressure but obviously failed to capitalize. PLYSA goalie got a lot of cardio chasing after missed shots. PLYSA finished one of their two great oppurtunities. Game was pretty clean until late when certain players got the dive itch.

Good Luck in the regular season to PLYSA.

That Clarence side was very good and clearly we were outmatched. While they played terrific, we had some monumental breakdowns right before halftime that blew any chance for us. A little advice to Clarence, though. You might want to exercise a little humility in your victory. Some behavior and comments were pretty disrespectful in the 2nd half. You just beat ONE of Celtic's 3 teams, which had 13 players, 6 of which are over 40 and none under 30. At our age, I'll rest on our overall body of work in this league which includes more than a handful of League and Tehel Cup Championships. That is compared to your 1 Tehel Cup win.... Enjoy your victory... which I did over a pitcher of Smithwicks!!

good job refs and good luck rest of season to celtic bhoys, we had a good squad last night, celtic bhoys are very good but clarence youth the difference.
last few minutes of first half we caught some breaks and capitalized on some breakdowns. len had some nice saves for us and defenders did pretty good watching #18 and opfer, who were both late to the match which also helped us. clarence gwg b. cournan. nice celtic goal from opfer. sportsmanship was very good from both teams especially by normal bdsl standards.
tony still has 0 tehel cup wins?

Amherst Sharpshooters-3 Yemen-2
Entertaining crowd at Lehigh helped make a fun game for everyone. The field was a mud pit which made things a bit difficult. The Sharpshooters went up 1-0 off an unfortunate own goal from a Yemen defender. Yemen tied it a few minutes later with a low shot that skipped into the corner. After the halftime break it stayed 1-1 for a while. I beat the Yemen keeper to a ball and got dragged down. Unfortunately for me, the keeper made a nice save on the resulting penalty kick. RJ Grampp bailed me out less than a minute later when he cut in from the left wing and curled one into the far post. Yemen equalized again off some sloppy defending inside our own box. With 3 minutes left RJ laid a ball back to Brendan Lawler who unleashed a rocket into the bottom corner for the winner. Sharpshooters controlled most of the game despite having no subs. Great game from Yemen, good bunch of guys. Good luck the rest of the season.
