Scoring question Empty Scoring question

Post  B_Calvaneso Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:50 am

I understand that a forfeit registers a score of 3-0 but two weeks ago we were up 4-0 at halftime when Azzurri quit. Wouldn't the score of that game automatically register as a 4-0 win since we got to halftime before they quit? Or are the league standings correct that it would only register as a 3-0 win due to forfeit? As we get closer to the end of the season goal differential may play a factor in us making the playoffs or not this year and every goal would count. Thanks.

I hope the answer is 4-0. If the answer is 3-0, then wouldn't it make sense for a team that shows up short to just wave the white flag as soon as the goal differential exceeds 3? It's essentially a cop out for a team to save on a poor goal differential, even though they (any team) were scheduled to show up and play that day.

Not to mention that, although not guaranteed, we probably would have at least got to the maximum 5 goals for the GD5 stat.

Speaking as a ref - if the whistle blew at halftime then it becomes a legal match. Since your writing sounds like they quit at halftime - that may be the issue. Hope that helps....OUT CoachTRK

The whistle was definitely blown at half time. We went to the bench and started to talk about scoring one more when the refs came over and said that Azzurri was going to forfeit. Who do I need to talk to about getting the score switched?

Dont know why I worded it like that - whistle has to blow in the second half to begin, then legal match.
Sorry on that...OUT CoachTRK
