Crimson Fire 5 - Meerkats 2 Empty Crimson Fire 5 - Meerkats 2

Windy day on the Island. We showed up with 3 subs Meerkats I believe had 3-4. Maybe more, hard to tell as they had a lot of guys on the bench watching, including some Queenston players. Both squads were missing key players. CFFC: Mike Asbach, Fenesse Henry and Nate Mackowski; Meerkats: Fallia, Smith, Strangio.

We started the game with 10 men. Jamie Asbach had decided 30 mins prior to the game that he was leaving his grad party to come play. Rest of our subs came late. Meerkats had a pretty good opportunity right off the bat when Mark Passintino misplayed the ball but recovered. Minutes later August Cadle streaked up the right wing, down the end line and passed it to a wide open Dan Tarbell for his first goal of the game. 1-0. Few minutes later Jamie would come in to give us 11. 5-10 mins later August runs straight down the center, past the defenders and strays to the right. Instead of shooting he passes it to a wide open Tarbell who taps his second one in. 2-0. Jared Billica would find Jamie Asbach over the top who, while being grabbed and held back, would put a slow roller past Trunzo to make it 3-0. Jamie would get another one right before half when Dylan Guarino punted the ball deep to Jamie who meged the goalie. 4-0. HT. Meerkats had some great possession just didn't really do much in the final 3rd in the 1st Half.

Second Half. We came out swinging. Meerkats fended us off. Tarbell would get his hat trick from a nice pass from Jamie Asbach. (Tarbell now has 3 hat tricks on the season.) 5-0. We definitely at that point let Meerkats take possession and come at us. With about 20 minutes left Meerkats got a free kick. The older Rocco Strangio had a beautiful free kick that Dylan managed to get a hand on but not enough. 5-1. With about 5-7 mins left in the game Meerkats streaked down the left side after a player slipped. Passed the ball in from the end line for a tap in goal. I got caught looking. 5-2.

Meerkats are a quality side. Like they said on Twitter they struggled to keep up with our speed up top. Bunch of good guys. They had a few chances that they put wide or Dylan mopped up. We could have probably had 7 or 8 goals but Trunzo came up big for them on a few.
