It was a hot one out at Knox Farm. Fields are completely open but luckily someone from the team brought a pop-up-tent for a little shade. Both teams had 15 or 16.

Game started off with Aurora taking possession right away. One of the Aurora players received the ball baseline and ended up putting it off the far post and in. Our goalie was calling for offsides but the AR said no. 0-1. Aftershock settled in and started to build some possession and apply decent pressure on Aurora defense. Patterson was able to intercept a pass from the Aurora back and walked in on net and put it far post past the goalie. 1-1. A few minutes later a miscommunication between our goalie and outside back resulted in a ball directly to Aurora player who one touches it perfectly upper 90 from 20+ yards out. 1-2. Not much happened rest of 1st half. Both sides seemed to hold possession but give it away by the time they reached the final 3rd. Halftime.

Second half started with both teams possessing evenly. Part way through the half, Aurora had a corner that bounced around the box and fell directly to a wide open player who tapped it in (reminded me of Slovakia vs Germany on Draxler goal). 1-3. Aftershock responded well with a few minutes later Lorenzo Amato feeding Brian Voit inside the 18 who put it lower left corner past their keeper. 2-3. With about 10' left to play, Aurora had another corner that bounced around the box and deflected off a few players that found the back of the net. 2-4. Aftershock applied some heavy pressure that led to a chance by Patterson who couldn't get the ball to settle down quick enough and pushed it wide of the net. Game ended a few minutes later with Aurora Arsenal coming away with the victory. Good game to Aurora and good luck rest of the year.

As for Aftershock, we will look to regroup and try to string together a few wins in July (during our hardest part of the schedule) if we want to stay alive in the playoff hunt. First up is Dutch on July 10th at our home turf in Hamburg.
