Future Stars 3, WNY United 1

A fiery match ended up 3-1 for the visitors. We started going uphill into the wind, which made it tough to clear out. Future Stars scored after about 10 minutes on an inch-perfect through ball. Brandon Tytka stopped a penalty kick late in the half to keep it 1-0 at the break. With the wind at our backs we got more offensive zone possession going, culminating in a Neil Hanson cross finding Brandon Simonson at the back post, and he half-volleyed it to the far corner. Future Stars woke up and won a PK which they converted, and added another near the end when we were pressing up field to try to tie it. I liked how we got into BDSL-mode today, speed and physicality, missing some guys made us shuffle our lineup a little but we managed. Future Stars was a quality opponent coming down from D1. It felt great to be back outside playing on grass.
