Hamburg 1:7 Lykan FC

For the third straight season, we showed up to a Tehel Cup game shorthanded. This one was particularly frustrating because we spent a lot of time rescheduling this game to a date and time which I felt would get us a full squad. Turns out that wasn't the case. Although this score ended up being lopsided, I felt that we did some good things during the course of the match that we can take with us to the rest of the regular season. Playing a man down is no fun and this one stings even more because we felt we could have given Lykan a challenge with our full team on the pitch. Nevertheless, it was a good showing from Lykan who at first seemed uncomfortable playing on grass but regrouped to score 3 in the first half and, once the inevitable fatigue from our side settled in, scored 4 more in the second. Aaron Hayes, who played a terrific game all night, netted our only goal of the match on a PK. Good luck to Lykan FC against FC Yemen. I imagine that match will go down to the wire and will be a fun one to watch for sure.
