A long time ago a few guys split off from United to form Depew Village, and we've stayed close ever since. And yet we've never met in a BDSL match until tonight. Both teams wanted this one, both teams played hard, but there was no malice anywhere. 0-0 at the half but it could've been 4-4. Rob Laskowski made some big saves tonight but Depew's offensive press finally paid off halfway through the second half, Justin Ryszkiewicz tipped one past into the top corner. As has been our game lately, we kept hammering away, a Brian Dunn pass found Chris Duerr in the box and he smartly finished with his left into the far corner. A Neil Hanson goal off a rebound was called back for offsides. Then two of our players were knocked over at the back post near the end, judged by the ref to be a penalty, and Duerr stepped up and buried the kick.

I think both teams would agree they created a lot of the kind of chances they wanted to but couldn't finish enough. The evening was topped off with grills and drinks with both teams. Good luck to our friends at Depew the rest of the way. They have a lot of fight in them and put us under a lot of pressure. With this result we stay in the mix for another week.
