Clarence Rebels 4, WNY United 0

The Reds were down to their 4th string keeper last night (me). Thunderstorms rolled in shortly before game time but we got started around 7. Rebels tried shooting high, one I had to tip off the crossbar and another I grabbed on the line. Their first two goals were deflections off our own players - the first I came off my line to clear and it boomeranged back off a defender, the second one our defender made a sliding tackle, and the ball sharply came off the forward's shin with a hard low "shot". What can you do. Second half we piled on the pressure but just can not score right now. They got me twice on a couple 1v1's near the end. The good news is no more Thursday games for us. The magic of the cup; I hate the cup.
