LP1, Backline, Pellicano Help Preserve Win: Clarence Coyotes Within Pelican Feather of Premier Playoff Position

54 year-old Lenny "Il Signori" Previte (LP1) continues to show up to every game, continues to lead, and continues to make improbable saves.  The guy is a machine.  Yesterday's kick save ('kick save and a beaut') was a microcosm of Lenny's value to our team: Clinging to a late-in-the-game,1-0 lead, and after already having made 3 or 4 very good saves earlier, LP kicked away a screecher from about 3 yards out.  He kicked that puppy away as if he were half his age.  He kept us up and eventually earned another well deserved clean sheet...

...in fact, if you count the forfeit (2-0), LP1, the backline, and Clarence Coyotes are enjoying a regular season shutout streak of 277 minutes...

...whenever Anthony "The Pelican" Pellicano scores, we scoop up 3 points.  Yesterday was no exception.  After a nice corner by Berardi (a magician), Clint (who has been very strong as of late) darted a header across the 6 yard box to a flying Pelican - Tone Loc made no mistake and sliced the header home.  The lone goal was all we needed.

We came with numbers.  We came to play.  We all played well.  Our goalie and backline played possessed.  Our middies played with patience and tenacity.  Our forwards played with heart and broke free here and there.  

We continue to move up the table.

It was quite nice playing on a grass field.
