In a very disappointing game for Buffalo Celtic, we showed up not ready to play and the young, talented and very fast Vikings from the Grand Ol' Island did. In the first 5 minutes of the game it was 2-0 young guns and Celtic just looked lost and confused. Granted, we were missing a couple of key pieces to our starting lineup but nothing we should not of been able to overcome. We were able to hold of Grand Island for the rest of the half. The second half had two different Celtic teams take the pitch. For the first 25 minutes, the Celtic team that had been on a 2-0-2 streak took it to GI and tied the game at 2 with goals coming from Richie Brinkman and Kevin McKenzie. We played smart, Celtic soccer passing to feet, making smart runs and finishing our chances. Then we subbed every player from that Celtic team and put in the Celtic team that started the first 10 minutes of the game for the remaining 20 minutes. From this point we were out of sorts, seemed lost on where we were let alone how to play the game....for the most part as we had a guy or two still going all out. Very disappointing and by far our worst game of the year. We are still alive and need to refocus as the schedule is only going to get tougher as we are playing the 3 powerhouses of 1st division over the following weeks. The weather held out and actually turned into a warm and sunny game. Some very talented players on GI that will cause a lot of grief in the coming years for BDSL teams. Final 6-2
